Most people must have been wondering about how to make fried rice and chicken. Fried rice is becoming one most demanding meals, especially for dinners! It’s also an easy recipe to customize and swap out with another protein and you could even add in other vegetables. Read on for more detailed information.

The entire family will love this protein-packed, chicken and brown rice combo.

1. Green onions: feel free to add more green onions to taste good.

2. Garlic:  only use fresh garlic here for the best flavour.

3. Eggs:  you can add 3 eggs here to stretch the recipe a bit. If it’s easier for you, you can stir in a bowl with a fork first then add to the skillet.

4. Low-sodium soy sauce: if you have regular sodium soy sauce that will work too,

5. Brown rice: Leftover rice from the day before works best. White rice will work great here too.

6. Chicken breasts: You can dice the chicken into very small pieces about 1/2 – 3/4-inch, which makes it the perfect size for this fried rice.

7. Toasted sesame oil: This oil is very strong and a little goes a long way. This ingredient adds lots of flavour to this dish.

8. Vegetable oil: This is used for sautéing (along with the sesame oil so you won’t use too much of that and sesame oil on its own has a low smoke point).

9. Frozen peas and carrots blend: I like to use the frozen vegetables here to save time, but fresh will work too you’ll just have to longer so they’ll become tender enough. It’s also an easy recipe to customize and swap out with another protein and you could even add in other

Since brown rice and chicken are used instead of the customary white rice and ham, this fried rice is healthier than the conventional version. Additionally, it employs low-sodium soy sauce rather than standard soy sauce, which has a greater salt level.

Can I Substitute Chicken Thighs?

Skinless, boneless chicken thighs will also work well in this recipe; you will only need to cook them for a few more minutes. 

Can I Use Shrimp or Ham instead of Chicken?

Yes. Here, you might also use gammon or prawns. If you’re using shrimp, use little shrimp and fry them for just about a minute on each side.
