Nigerian Party Jollof Rice Ingredients
Here are the essential ingredients for preparing Nigerian party jollof rice. The quantity of used depends on the servings, that is the estimated number of persons whom the rice is prepared for.
In this guide, we are giving the quantity of ingredients for 6 servings, and they are:
1. 3 Cup Rice
2. 11/2 Cup Boiled down pepper mix (tomato, peppers & onions)
3. 120 ml Vegetable Oil
4. 1 Sachet Tomato Paste (70g)
5. 1/2 Tablespoon Ginger Paste
6. 1 Tablespoon Butter
7. 4 Bay leaves
8. 3 Knorr Cubes
9. 1 Sachet Maggi Jollof Seasoning
10. 3 Teaspoons Curry
11. 3 Teaspoons Thyme
12. 2 Cups Beef/Chicken Stock
13. 2 Big Onion
Nigerian Party Jollof Rice Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat up the vegetable oil in the pot. Sauté the onion with the ginger paste for two minutes. Fry the tomato paste for about five minutes until you notice it looks as if it forms lumps. This step is very essential as some brand are a bit sour.
Step 2
Add the boiled down pepper mix and fry again until you discover the pepper mix separates from the oil. Season with curry, thyme and jollof seasoning.
Step 3
Add the beef/chicken stock and water enough to cook the rice. Add bay leaves.
Step 4
Add seasoning cube and check for salt. Bring this mixture to a rolling boil. Add the washed rice.

Stir everything together. Cover your pot with foil sheet before using the lid. This is to trap all the steam needed to cook the rice.
