Macaroni Pasta is an Indo-Italian fusion dish ideal for get-togethers & parties as an add-on dish in a grand menu. Macaroni Pasta is an assortment of tastes that is a must-try at home.

Macaroni is pasta shaped like narrow tubes. Made with durum wheat, macaroni is commonly cut in short lengths; curved macaroni may be referred to as elbow macaroni.

Some home machines can make macaroni shapes but, like most pasta, macaroni is usually made commercially by large-scale extrusion.

Macaroni Pasta is an Indian-style masala pasta. It is made up of using the elbow macaroni pasta diversity.

It is a tasty alternative to white sauce. Macaroni Pasta combines Italian flavors and is packed with Indian masala flavors.

 Macaroni is a variety of pasta used for a lot of dishes. On the other hand, you can replace this recipe with previous pasta varieties like penne, fusilli, and rigatoni. It is used to make pasta.

It is a dried-out pasta diversity which is additional like a curved tube. The curved tube diversity is elbow macaroni pasta which is used here and the other variety is a thin tube. However, the most common variety obtainable here is the elbow macaroni.

I always love to include Indian flavors in pasta and this Indian style Macaroni Pasta is one of my family favorites.

 It is a basic onion tomato-based curry made and blended with cooked pasta. This recipe is medium spicy hence suitable for kids too.

I have not used cheese or cream to make it creamy and rich but if you wish you can add it, kindly check my variations section for it.

I have used just our basic Indian spices like red chili powder and garam masala powder along with mixed herbs.

I used my Dutch oven to create this pasta. You can use any heavy bottom pan to make this. This is an easy macaroni pasta recipe on the other hand you can make macaroni pasta Italian style too.

Macaroni pasta sauce can be ready well ahead and then varied with pasta at the time of serving, this way it helps in creation in bulk for one and parties.

  • Pasta: Macaroni Pasta variety is chosen for this recipe on the other hand you can use any pasta for this saucer which includes penne.
  • Spices: Indian spice powders like red chilli powder, and garam masala powders are used.
  • Vegetables: In addition, you can add mushrooms, cooked corn, baby corn, or any other veggies of your alternative.

  • Add extra colorful vegetables to create Macaroni Pasta that is colorful and delicious.
  • Adding pasta cooked water helps prevent pasta from flattering dry.
  • Original of all, cook pasta completely. It shouldn’t turn out to be mushy as suggest pasta to be cooked soft for the most part recipes to avoid absorption problems.
  • This Macaroni Pasta should be moist and succulent and not dry so regulate the consistency for that reason.
  • If you have maggi masala powder you can put it in that too.
  • You require no extra garnish if the blended masala curry is tasty. I don’t even add cheese for garnish and still, the kids love it a lot.

How to Make Macaroni Pasta

1. Boil 4 cups of water in a pot and get ready with all other ingredients.

2. Add 1 teaspoon of oil along with salt when the water starts to boil.

3. Put 1 heaped cup of macaroni pasta variety.

4. Give a quick mix.

5. It may take 5-6 mins on the pasta variety and size. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta cooking water for later use.

6. Ditch water and Set aside.

7. Wash it with water to prevent additional cooking.

8. Heat oil in a pan – add 1 teaspoon garlic, and 1/2 teaspoon ginger chopped finely.   Saute for a minute until golden.

9. Add 1/2 cup of onion chopped with salt.

10. Saute till see-through and golden.

11. Put in 1 cup of tomatoes 1/4 cup of capsicum, and 2 tablespoons of carrots delicately chopped.

12. Saute till tomatoes turn mushy and raw smell leaves.

13. Cook until the veggies turn soft.

14. Put in 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder, and 1 teaspoon of varied herbs.

16. Add 1 tablespoon tomato sauce with 1/2 cup pasta.

18. At last add cooked pasta.

Bottom Line

 Always reserve pasta cooked water and add it to the curry before adding pasta. This helps in thickening the sauce and also prevents the pasta from drying. 

If the pasta is not cooked soft then it will not absorb the masalas fully so make sure to cook pasta perfectly.

Make sure the spices are more as it will be perfect after adding and mixing the pasta. You can add 2 tablespoon cheese for garnish. You can either use Parmesan cheese or cheddar cheese.
