1. 4 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce

2. 1 ½ tablespoons of vegetable oil

3. 1 tablespoon of sesame oil

4. 1 green onion for garnish

5. 4 cups of water

6. 2 cups of dry long-grain white rice

7. ½ of a small yellow onion

8. 1 clove of garlic

9. 2 eggs

10. 1 teaspoon of salt and black pepper each

Step 1: Use 4 cups of water to measure out 2 cups of rice.

Step 2: After adding the rice and water to the saucepan, turn the hob up to high and wait until the water boils.

Step 3: Once the water reaches a boil, reduce the burner’s temperature to simmer and cover the pot for 20 to 25 minutes.

Step 4: Using a chef’s knife or paring knife, dice the onion while you wait for the rice to cook.

Step 5: Using a chef’s knife or paring knife, finely chop the garlic.

Step 6: In a wok or large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

Step 7: Stir-fry the onions and garlic in the hot oil until they become transparent while adding salt and pepper to taste.

Step 8: While you wait for the onions to become translucent, scramble eggs in a separate pan with ½ tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once the eggs are done, set them aside.

Step 9: Include the garlic and onions in the wok with the cooked rice.

Step 10: Combine the rice with the soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

Step 11: Once all the other ingredients have been added, add the scrambled egg; be careful not to overcook it.

Step 12: Using a spatula, stir-fry the rice continuously for three to four minutes.

Step 13: Arrange the fried rice on a plate, and add green onion on top.

How to Make your Fried Rice Tasty
