White Rice and Beans: Step-by-Step Guide You Need to know

Many countries prepare white rice and beans, and Nigeria is no exception. We have chosen two excellent recipes for this delectable dinner and would like to share them with you. For the first dish, the ingredients and how to conveniently prepare will be made available in the next section.

1.500 grammes  rice, 

2. 250 grammes brown/black-eyed beans

3. 500 millilitres water.

5.  One teaspoon of fresh or dried cumin, 

6. 250 grams of fish or chicken, pepper, and salt to taste.

Step 1: Wash the beans and soak in water for 5 hours. After the time has elapsed, drain the water and rinse the beans with running water.

Step 2: Put them in a pot of water and bring to a boil. When the water with the beans reaches boiling point, remove from heat, drain, and rinse the beans under running water again. 

Step 3: We will be able to reduce the digestive problems that some people encounter as a result of legume consumption by following these simple procedures.

Step 4: Rice should be steamed. Cook the tomato stew. The stew recipe is freely available on the internet.

Step 5: While the rice is cooking, boil the chicken. After that, roast the chicken until cooked, along with the chopped onions, cumin, and bouillon cubes.

Step 6: If you prefer fish, boil it for 5 minutes with the same spice as the chicken.  Then follow the same procedure as with the chicken. Fry or grill them until ready, then set aside. 

Step 7: Boil the beans, then set them aside. Drain the ready chicken or fish broth into a larger skillet big enough to hold the rice and beans. 

Step 8: They need extra time to get ready. Combine tomato stew, rice, and beans. Check the water level. It should not cover the entire product. 

Step 9: Turn on the fire until the water evaporates. Add salt and pepper to taste while cooking. 

Step 10: Add the onions and water, and cook for approximately an hour, or until they are easily crushed. Wash thoroughly with rice. 

Step 11: Rinse until clear water drains under the rice. Add to the beans. If there isn’t enough water, add more. Add salt and pepper to taste. Boil it, then reduce the heat to a minimum. 

Cover the dish with the cover and leave it on the fire for a further 20 minutes. Arrange the beans and rice neatly on a plate.  Serve with a variety of stews and sauces. Enjoy your food!
